Mount Gambier Motorcycle Club

by , in Local Business or Place , April 27, 2023

The Mount Gambier Motorcycle Club is one of the oldest motorcycling clubs in the country, and is the only motorcycle club in Australia (and one of very few in the world) to own it’s own Road Racing circuit : McNamara Park, a genuine family-oriented Clubman race track. Many of the Club's members are regular competitors in Road Racing events across the country, competing in modern and historic racing on both Solos and Sidecars. Ride days are becoming an increasingly popular way to enjoy the capabilities of your motorcycle without incurring the wrath of the law, and membership enables you to participate in their monthly ride days at the track.

Morgan Motor Cycle Club

by , in Local Business or Place , April 27, 2023

We are a family orientated club who pride ourselves in providing a location where everyone can experience racing a motorcycle in a safe and controlled environment.

Throughout the year, all race results are added up so we can award the class champion and club champion. This happens in our final meeting of the year which is also our AGM meeting. Please note, to be eligible for these class champion results, you must be a member of the club before the end of Round three.

While we race motocross, we will never forget that we have a lot of history with long track speedway with the Morgan Mile and 1/2 Mile events that were run during the 1970's until the 1990's. We pay respect to these events and hold them dear to our hearts with the dream of hopefully re-establishing them once again. This is why we are a Motorcycle Club and not a motocross club.

Australian Sidecarcross Association

Australian Sidecarcross Association

by , in Local Business or Place , April 27, 2023

The Classic Motocross Sidecar Register was founded by five Sidecar enthusiasts in Western Victoria, all of them riders or passengers themselves. They were concerned with the lack of numbers and the interest in the sport so they contacted other local Sidecar owners about conducting a meeting in Lismore Vic, to discuss forming a Register of names, and also to discuss other issues that effect our sport.

From that meeting held on the 23rd July 2001 they formed The Classic Motocross Sidecar Register, to keep track of outfits, riders and passengers. Starting with 7 outfits and 12 people on the Register in the year 2001, we now have over 150 outfits and more than 200 members 5 years later.

When the Register was originally formed it catered for mostly Pre 85 down, as that was the age of most of the outfits that were owned by the founding members. Not until 2004 was the Pre 85 cap lifted to cater for all Motocross and Road Trial Sidecars, but at the same time, still preserving the era of each class on the Register.

In 2003 the Register became affiliated with MA so we could start conducting our own events. Also that year the Register had its first Sidecar Display day in Colac, Victoria, where they had an impressive 29 outfits turn up, for what turned out to be a very successful day. With a general meeting held at that event in Colac, it was decided because of the success of the day the Register would have a display weekend the following year in SA.

At that stage no one could have imagined the success the following year would bring in the small SA town of Morgan, with 82 Motocross and Road Trial Sidecars turning up for what was to be the biggest Motocross Sidecar event ever held in Australia, from Pre 68 Sidecars, to the latest model Motocross, including a full field of Juniors.

In 2005 the Event was held in Warrnambool Victoria with another record being broken with 89 entree’s being received including a European team, also at this event we reached another mile stone with the changing of our name from the (Classic Motocross Sidecar Register) to the Australian Side-Cross Association.

In 2006 the now Annual Sidecar Spectacular returned to South Australia where 103 Sidecars turned out, to what is believed to be the worlds biggest Motocross Sidecar event.

AJS Moto Trial Club of SA

AJS Moto Trial Club of SA

by , in Local Business or Place , April 27, 2023

The AJS Moto Trial Club, now one of the oldest and most respected clubs, was founded in 1928 by the late Mr. Frank Part. He wrote letters to several AJS owners of that period in Adelaide and organised meetings, mainly socially oriented. Although many early club outings consisted of a touring nature, it wasn’t long before competitive events became understandably very popular. Of these, road trial events suited most members, with the club running its first trial in 1930.

Since then, the club has progressed into competitive events in the majority of disciplines and are presently most active in Observed Moto Trials and combined Road Races. Members have successfully competed in most facets of Motor Cycle sport at State, National and International levels. Current members have attained State and Australian Championships.

A Social Committee maintains fresh initiatives and strengthening unity between members whose ages range from 4 to 75 plus years! Enjoyment and fun is strongly emphasised at all club competitions and social functions. An interest in motor cycling is all that’s required; non-competitors are well catered for by the friendship imparted at all functions.

Observed Moto Trials are held in extremely picturesque areas of the state on private country properties where barbecues, picnics and occasionally overnight camping takes place.
