I highly recommend indoor volleyball players that do not typically play much beach volleyball to start doing sand workouts as you lead up to indoor season starting.
I have assembled a sand workout that I did a couple years ago. It kicked my butt.

1. Strengthens the feet and ankles
2. Improve your vertical and speed
3. Able to naturally load your jumps and footwork (sand resistance)
4. Reduced impact from landings and speed work
