Dawn Morse of Core Elements Training demonstrates how to perform Clinical Yoga based posture Setu Bandha Sarvangasana otherwise known as Bridge Pose.
This is an excellent stretch to help open up the hip flexor region, whilst stretching the quadriceps (thighs) along with the chest area.
As the body lifts upwards against gravity, the gluteals, hamstrings, and back will be strengthened. Therefore this posture can help to stretch and strength muscles groups that link to generalised lower back pain.
If performing this stretch yourself, aim to move into and out of this posture slowly for about three times as a mobility movement and then build up to holding this posture for about 5 breaths and then repeat.
This is an example of the stretches covered in Core Elements accredited and insurable Online CPD short course in Clinical Yoga.
