Prince Alfred Collegians’ Basketball Club
Founded in 1994 by Sean Heylen, PAOCBC had just a single team, playing in the Saturday, South Australian Church Basketball Association (SACBA). As the Club grew, more teams were formed and the Club began competing in the midweek social competitions. In 2018 PAOCBC and Saint Peter’s Old Collegians (SPOC) created a new league, South Australian Amateur Basketball League (SAABL), enticing new teams and promoting a higher standard of competition.
Currently the Club fields five Saturday teams (A through E grade) and three Midweek teams (all A grade). PAOCBC has eight teams across multiple grades that compete on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. The Club is also very active off field with a number of events held throughout each season including a 'Beergustation' with beer pairings, held annually at the Todd estate in Balhannah, an annual club lunch, celebrating the achievement of players and teams for the year and a Quiz Night.
