The Constellation Model Flying Club was established in 1946. Our aims are “The promotion and encouragement of model aircraft building and model aircraft flying in all its aspects”
Our club has a healthy membership with over 100 members. Our members enjoy flying at the field on most days of the week, weather permitting. In South Australia, we enjoy flying for at least 10 months of the year, with the odd days in summer where it is too hot and a few weeks over winter where the field gets saturated with water.
If you are interested in Radio Controlled Model Aircraft, you are welcome to come out to the field and have a look. The best times to come along are:
Saturday morning with lots of members.
Monday and Friday there is always several flyers beating the Saturday rush.
Sunday may have a programmed event, Pattern, Pylon, or Fun Fly gathering.
The CMFC is affiliated with MASA (State) and MAAA (National) parent bodies.

Holdfast Model Aero Club

in Entertainment , April 21, 2023
Holdfast Model Aero Club (HMAC) consists of a very active group of modellers (approximately 120 members at present) who enjoy the facilities provided at our field located 20 Kms south west of the city of Adelaide, South Australia. The flying site is unique in that it is located close to a main road giving exceptional exposure to the public.
Meetings are held twice a month in the club room at the field. The first Friday of the month is a general meeting, commencing at 7:30 pm with usually a guest speaker on aeromodelling/aviation. The third Tuesday of the month is a Committee meeting, commencing at 7:00 pm, although the meeting is open to all Club Members on request.
Newcomers to R/C modelling are catered for by setting aside every Sunday morning from 10:00 am (weather permitting) when qualified instructors will teach all aspects required for the safe operation of the model. During the training period no other models are allowed to fly, ensuring the least possible distractions to the student.
Other than Sunday morning the field is available for general flying from 10:00 am till 7:00 pm every day of the week. Due to the reasonably close proximity of the suburbs the club imposes a 96 db noise limit. However, gliders and electric aircraft may be flown at any time.

The best way to experience what gliding is all about is to try an Air Experience Flight (AEF). During this introductory flight, you’ll experience a flight in one of our two-seater training aircraft with a fully qualified instructor. The AEF will last approximately 20 minutes, during which time you’ll get to have a go on the controls, and gain height in a thermal (weather dependant). Should you be interested in going further with your training, your instructor will explain the process and how you can learn to fly solo and beyond. AEF prices start from as little as $160.

If you are looking for a great way to get fit, meet new people, and have fun, squash or racquetball could be the sport for you. To get started all you need is a ball, a racket, and a wall (or four!) Your local squash centre can provide all of these for you.
There are approximately 40 South Australian clubs, recreation centres, universities and colleges with courts available for public use. Use our Court Finder to find a great facility in your local area.
Most centres allow you to pay and play without signing up for a membership, and courts tend to cost $20 to $30 per hour for 2 people. Many regular players go on to join a club, which can provide access to competition, coaching, and a thriving social network.
There are many junior programs designed for school aged children. After school training programs are a fun, cost effective way for kids to get started. Junior squash offers improved fitness and skills for growing bodies with pathways for kids to extend as they become more experienced.
